Andre and Michelle - The Hyatt in Rosebank

There are a number of words that can describe shooting a wedding at the very luxurious, very upmarket The Hyatt in Rosebank, but there are no words that can describe the pure elegance, grace and style when it comes to The Hyatt as a wedding venue. The oozing of style was mandatory, it had to be, because I don’t think any other venue would have done for the very gracious Michelle and Andrew. I was once assisted by my good friend Ben Viljoen.

Coenie and Chantelle at Greenleaves

Coenie and Chantelle tied the knot at Greenleaves last weekend. Chantelle told me beforehand that she’s not very photogenic, but I beg to differ cause I think she rocks in front of the camera. I had an absolute blast at this wedding, enjoyed every moment of it. I’ll be posting a few more as I edit the images, lots of cool stuff to choose from. Hmm, I think I’ll also post a few pages of their book I’m busy designing, watch this space.

Now isn’t this just the coolest of sunsets.

Amy and Marcello at Shepstone Gardens

It’s the first time that I shot at Shepstone Gardens in Johannesburg and understand now why it is such a sought after venue. It really is spectacular and is also a photographer’s dream. Amy and Marcello’s wedding was stunning and they both looked like fashion models, or rock stars, or both. I love this job, you get to meet great people, create stunning images and in general have a good time.

I was assisted once again by Ben. Thanks Ben for delaying going on holiday for a day or two to be able to assist.

The chappel’s glass roof lets in more than ample light which prompted me to get some dramatic sun shots. Who says that one cannot shoot into the sun?

Making Music

My wife and I are not musical and cannot play any mysical instruments, although I do rate my shower singing as some of the best I’ve ever heard. Luckily it seems as if our children are not going to be musically challenged. Meyer (8) takes to music like a duck to water (same with cricket, drama, rugby, swimming and academics). Amy (3) is sure to follow in her older brother’s footsteps.

Hmm, I suspect that some of the readers my suspect me to be proud. Wel, I am.

Meyer playing the piano which my mother’s dad gave to her when she was little. She gave me the piano years ago and its been standing around unused, until now.
